Origami Development is a Dubai-based real estate developer built around a people-first approach to residential design. The company focuses on homes that feel calm, intuitive, and comfortable in daily use, with natural light, air, practical flow, and carefully chosen materials forming part of the design from the beginning.

Its principles centre on intentional craft, integrity, simplicity, everyday living, and long-term care. Origami applies those ideas from the first design stage through construction and beyond handover, aiming to create homes that remain relevant and enjoyable as residents’ lives change.

The leadership team brings experience across real estate, engineering, construction, retail, architecture, design, investment, and brand development. Chairman Jan Mohmmad Lakhani works alongside partners and co-founders Faiz Lakhani and Jalal Merchant. Their roles combine project vision and investment strategy with development execution, material quality, and build precision.

Origami’s current residential project is SOMA Residences on Dubai Islands. The low-rise coastal development comprises 44 residences with expansive balconies, three-metre ceilings, floor-to-ceiling glazing, and interiors by XBD Collective. SOMA has enrolled to pursue WELL Gold Certification and includes wellness and social amenities designed around a slower waterfront lifestyle.
